Updates for the start of the 2026 season

1 more week of Winter Workouts. There will NOT be practice tomorrow, Monday Feb 16.
Field work day Feb 21. 12:00. There is lots to get accomplished so we're hoping that we have plenty of help. Here's what the to do list looks like as of now: PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO ANY OF THESE REQUESTED ITEMS.
1. Removal of bullpen mound that is down the right field line on the field in foul territory. For the most part is not used. Need a machine to make this happen. DONE!!
2. Batting cage net - taking down old one and putting up new one - need tall extension ladders
3. Patching/repairing of all existing netting - batting cage, Lscreen, turtle - twine and zip ties
4. New Lscreens - building them
5. cleaning out and reorganizing: all sheds/clubhouse/concession stand
6. Repair bullpens - including pulling up the turf and rebuilding the landing area underneath.
7. Trimming all grass edging in the infield/base paths, warning track behind home plate and in front of visitor's dugout - need electric trimmer
8. Cleaning out of dugouts; repair netting in front of dugouts, re-secure dugout rail padding
9. Hang advertising banners - if we have any.
10. Re-hang sign on the outfield fence
11. Large item trash removal that has collected in recent years - will need to take a trip to the dump.
Installing bat rack in visitor's dugout - moving existing one in home dugout over to visitors side.
Finish painting the new shed - white trim paint needed.
Attach gromlets to outfield fence banner - then attach banner to fence.
*Coaches will be doing a mound rebuild as well as homeplate prep next weekend.
** Upper class will likely be scrimmaging from 10:00-2:00
Tryouts
Feb 23, 24 after school at the field. Looks like good weather as of now.
Teams will be posted after tryouts on the 24th in the evening.
Required items for players who make a team
Navy blue batting helmets. I have helmet decals that they can get from me once teams are set. If you already have a navy blue helmet, but it has your club decals on it - please remove.
Navy blue and red under shirts/sleeves
White game pants w navy piping down the side
ADDED FRIDAY, FEB 20 - ADDITIONAL VARSITY GAME PANTS - WHITE W NAVY PIN STRIPES
For guys who wear their pants up - matching socks/stirrups - teams need to coordinate this.
Purchase of 2 game hats - $50($25 each) on Myschoolbucks by Wednesday, Feb 25.
AZ spring break trip FOR VARSITY ONLY
March 13 travel day Players are on their own to get down there. Coaches will transport the team to and from games. Coaches are available to pick up players from the airport if necessary.
Games players March 14, 16, double header on the 17th, 18th. Schedule is on Maxpreps.
Team stays at the Staybridge Suites in the Talking Stick area of Scottsdale. It's the same place that we have stayed for a number of years.
$800 per player - Please pay via Myschoolbucks by March 6.

Parent meeting Feb 26 6:00
Mr. Johnson will briefly meet with all spring sports parents at the beginning of this event in the main gym. After that, we will have our own brief parent meeting where you will hear from our Diamond Club representatives as well as myself. All lower level coaches will also speak to their parent groups at the end of the meeting. We will also be collecting the Diamond Club fee for the season and asking for various volunteer roles to be filled. Please plan on attending.
Team photos Feb 27 3:15 at the field. Practice will follow for all teams.
